Spring is here and I do many events. As the event photographer, it helps me to get out of slow motion portraits, to something that is going pretty fast, with great energy and lots of fun! I do many events from something like a 1st birthday, family bbq get together or reunions to religious events like Christening, Communion, and Confirmation. Also adult birthdays and Sweet 16 and small weddings. Cover them all and enjoy doing them when I can.
This past few weekends I have beeing doing event photography, I just want quickly tell you about one of my favorite family. I have photographed seven kids out of this big Italian family. The majority of the events were religious and also some that were regular portraits. This kid Mikey, I have been photographing since he was 5, so about 10 years now he is always being included in my camera’s frame.
He is very sweet and quite and has Autism but from a small age, I noticed he is getting much better. He actually smiles and looks at the camera. I caught some great shots of him, usually, he has no interest in me or my camera. This year, he and I actually played a little game at the church because he was just bored. Church events may be pretty long or not so much, depends on the priest and amount of people are included in the service. This year it was Mikey’s Confirmation, it was just for him and I haven’t seen so many people come for one person. It was almost the same amount as some of the weddings I have done.
It was very special that so many family members and friends came by to support him and watch his confirmation. It gives you hope that not everyone always careless about other people. The family is very important for many people and I understand why.
