Renting studios or working from client’s homes was my way of being a Maternity Photographer in New Jersey, I also had a room in my house for about 5 years and worked from there until my daughter was born, this pushed me to get out of my home and search for the studio to rent. I found a very generous person who allowed me to rent his studio on the weekends when he wasn’t working. I continued this way for another 6 years and then he closed due to many reasons and I worked from home for about a year. Last year I started complaining to my husband that driving around and meeting clients at their homes or nearby cafe shops wasn’t working for me anymore. I was wasting to much time on driving and I also decided at the same time to change my products and that has to be seen by clients. Since everyone wants a disk nowadays, it was hard for me to sell my products over the phone without potential clients to see and touch the products. When you see my folios from Ireland or gorgeous albums from the USA you will understand why it is so important to view them. So….
I made a decision this year to find a space for my self in a location that anyone can come and I can keep all my stuff there with no problems. I opened a Portrait studio this fall and officially started working there. I have done families, boudoir, maternity, headshots and glamour and also I call it branding session which is like a portfolio but based on your business. They all worked perfectly for me. The beautiful natural light that I receive from two large windows, give me plenty of beautiful photographs.
I am showing you the session I have done for my Mommy and Baby package. It includes two photo sessions, first we are doing Maternity Photo Session and then we are doing the Newborn Session and it includes album and 2 16×20 prints and 4 8×10 and all your selected photographs in a digital version as well. This is the Maternity Session that I have done and the baby is coming this week. Martha came to me from another country and she wanted to spend about $300 on her session with all images on a disk. Which is typical, nowadays to hear that price and that type of product. When I hear something like that, its a little bit upsets me only because I understand that I have to educate customers on understanding the photographs. After explaining to her what I do and showing her my products, she agreed to one of my popular packages. We set up a session time and took about 5 hours to do her session. Makeup and hair were done for her session, we also took time to eat and talk and changed her to many outfits. Her feet were unbelievable, she can be a perfect model for the Renaissance paintings, it is actually amazing that she didn’t have swollen feet and she was due in two weeks after the session. After modeling her feet and sending the best photos to the editor this is what I can show to you. There are much more great photos but it is not for the public eyes to see.
