My first pregnant client was my friend, from that point this became my expertise until my new mommies started bringing their babies. I decided couple years ago that I will go back to specialize in maternity photography more than newborn.
Sometimes the best way to get some new clients is to invite customers for a special deal. I am on Facebook a lot, my husband says that sometimes even too much. I advertised in many local groups to find someone who would be interested. I received an email from one girl and we set up her session.
This was done in the studio, the set up for studio photos I use, is very simple. I love to use plain backgrounds and set up light to create shadows, I love to show the shape of the cute belly and also the shape of the face. I don’t like flat and even portraits. The reason I use plain backgrounds, to manifest all the attention on the subject and not take it away.
Tori, the beautiful pregnant young lady brought a bunch of very cute dresses. I actually wanted to purchase them from her but these dresses were not just for pregnancy but she wore them all the time. I was glad that she brought them, the blue and green dress made her stunning red hair look even more scorching.
Her concern was her tattoos, I wasn’t sure why she kept asking about her tattos until I saw her. She had beautiful large tattos on both of her sides and also on upper arms and chest. I just loved them because they looked awesome on her, it was made with taste and definitely good quality and her style of dresses just matched her all the way.
Photos will come out great when its done with a great taste, no matter what style you are into. This is why I inquire consultation prior the session so we can create styled photo shoot.
