I love shooting small weddings, it so sweet and meaningful. All attention is really on the bride and groom. You don’t get the same vibe at the larger, more traditional ceremonies. They seem to be full of rules and rituals, lacking any real feeling, brides and grooms need help and a person who will control their wedding. As a wedding photographer I noticed many guests tend to get lost and confused about the event and about procedures.

I received a call about this shoot after the wedding. Since the couple had such a small wedding that it was okay to shoot after. The dress was already some what ripped and dirty , I suggested the couple, to go to the park after a prior rainy day . I will show you what we created with my make up lady in our four hour shoot. I had to stop or else I could’ve just keep going. I would like to show you just what we did with the bride and then I will do another blog , about the couple’s photos.
First we took time with the hair, because we realized we had no flowers or accessories for her hair and we had to take it down and make it prettier. We also decided to do her make up a little with bright red lipstick instead of keeping it natural.. We ( me and my make up artist) also were confused on which pair of shoes to use because the park has wooded area and we had to walk about 5 minutes there. So small rain boots and a fur vest to add some color to her was added in the last minute.
I am showing you photos that were not touched up at all, you will noticed that the bride has a terrible burn scar on her arm. I left it because I believe this is who she is and I won’t hide it. The only thing I did with these photos is that I slightly improvised on colors.
As a wedding photographer I am always looking for the best shot and it’s one at the time.
